Week 17
Size of Baby Walker  5.9 ounces = size of a peach!
Symptoms  I had a rough and hectic week leading up to my last wedding.  I don't get migraines very often, but I think the stress, plus sleeping really funny leads to a migraine for me.  I got one both Friday and Saturday.  It always starts with one of my eyes getting blurry vision prior to the pain actually starting.  I think the blurry vision is actually worse than the pain.  I finally found that Tylenol extra strength and a nap was my best fix.  Luckily I didn't have it once I got to the venue, because wedding day + migraine is my own personal hell.
Cravings/Aversions I'm still loving soup lately.  The weird thing was that twice this week I had pretty annoying stomach cramps.  It was about an hour after I ate breakfast.  I couldn't figure out if it was the banana or the bread that was causing me issues.  I usually eat a banana in the morning and tend to have some kind of bread/grain, but this week it did not like me.
Exercise Yeah, this week was not a good week for me and exercise.  I didn't run at all, but being on my feet all day for the wedding counts right?  I also try to take the pups on a walk once a day, which at least gets me out of the house!
Sleep  I really haven't felt tired lately.  I actually had a hard time falling asleep, even after my wedding!  I was up until around 1 AM and woke up around 5 AM.  What the heck?!  I did manage to fall asleep a couple of times, which was nice.  I even didn't feel dead tired on Sunday either!  Hello more energy!
Worries  I still don't really have many, is that weird?  I think thing I'm most nervous about is this name picking... UGH.  So much in a name.  We are still waiting until we know the sex, so we can just decide on one sex vs having two.
Best moment of the week...  Our birthdays and my massage for sure!  I was interested how the pregnancy massage would go.  I actually still feel comfortable laying on my stomach, so it was pretty much the same.  The hubs is officially old and we celebrated with an amazing dinner at Fabi & Rosi's.  I enjoyed myself a glass of wine to bring me to year 28.
Gender My friend told me this week that if you are having a girl, you will break out and not look as cute, since the girl is taking all the beauty from you.  She lead with that and said I must be having a boy. Awe, how sweet!
Changes  So I'm not sure if I'm making this up, but I am pretty sure I felt the little biscuit move this week!   The first time I thought I did was on my birthday.  I was wearing non-maternity pants with the hair band on the button.  I was also starting to have some of those stomach cramps, so that's why I really couldn't tell if it really was.  I was driving out to Lakeway to meet my client and then have lunch with D.  I had my pants undone for the drive (maybe I need maternity pants, lol) and I kept feeling this little flick.  I thought it seems much lower than I thought it would.  I think my tight pants were helping with feeling the biscuit move.  It was pretty consistent on the drive out, which I also thought might be a sign it wasn't actually the biscuit.  I didn't feel it again that day.  I did, however, feel it move (it had to be!) while I was laying on my stomach getting a massage.  It was in that same lower abdomen area.  This time it was more movement than a kick.  It literally felt like my stomach was growling (that super hungry feeling where your stomach feels like it's moving) but much lower.  I felt it a couple of times in the beginning, but it didn't last the whole time either.
Looking forward to feeling the biscuit move more!  It's so neat and weird at the same time!  I'm dying to have the hubs feel it, but I know it will be a while before that happens!

  1. I definitely think the "stealing your beauty" thing is an old wives' tale. I have skin blemishes on a regular basis, but with all of my pregnancies (two boys and one girl), my skin clears up a few weeks into it. It's crazy hormone city in there, and you never know what's gonna happen :)
And good luck on the name picking! I get to do the picking this time (because our son was named after my husband, this one's all me), and for some reason I thought it would be easier if I get to decide alone instead of compromising. Nope, this is still really stinking hard! I've known she's a girl for over 13 weeks, and I'm still undecided. I might be one of those people *gasp* who goes into delivery not having a name. That doesn't sit well with my planning nature.
Movement - that's such a weird thing in the beginning! It's all fluttery and indistinct so you're like, "did I feel it? am I crazy?". But before you know it, your body is shaking and moving from kicks, jabs, turning over, and your husband is all freaked out when you wake him up in the middle of the night because baby's foot is sticking out of your belly button!
