Falling in Love is like Owning a Dog

I know I have shared this poem before, but I just love it.  So here it is again, simply because it makes me smile.

For the Hubby

June 21 = Hubby love + delicious food

It all started with an...
Followed by him heading to work for the day.  We are traveling this week to visit family so he didn't take the day off.   The Whole Foods opened recently by us, so I grabbed us some delicious food on the way out to Lakeway.

We didn't have any set plans for the evening, just to enjoy each others company.  He was exhausted from working at school with out AC and all he wanted was a beer.  He's easy to please, beer it was.

We stood out on the patio and entertained ourselves in the heat.  When you get the two of us going, we are quite the pair - full of sarcasm and giggles.  We were totally cheesing in the picture above.  D just loves to make super goofy faces in pictures.

We spend the end of the evening trying out a brewery that D's been eying.  We splurged on some delicious fried food, totally good for us, and ended the evening sharing a vanilla cone with this one...
Best way to spend the day, with those I love.

DIY Alphabet Blocks

This past Sunday, my mom and I hosted a small little baby shower down in San Antonio.  I decided to get a little crafty and make some alphabet blocks for their little bundle, Liam.  Here is how I made some pretty stinking cute blocks for him!

Laughter

This is D laughing SO hard that he was crying. What caused such belly-aching laughter you might ask? Well, while we were visiting Kansas, D and I decided to go do a little shopping. H&M is in KC, so I couldn't really visit and not go there. We took my dad's 4 door Honda back, and I get in the front seat. I am inside waiting for him, because I'm super speedy fast or he is walking like a turtle that day, I'm not sure. He goes around the car and opens the back door. I hear him and just think he is getting something, but no, no, that's not it. He actually opened the back door and almost fully got in before realizing that he was in the back seat. I'm thinking okay, what is he doing??? He immediately gets up and into the front seat and has no other reaction beside laughing. WOW, I couldn't believe that just happened, and we continue to laugh for about 5 minutes. I asked him if he was distracted by something and he said no. I figured he had to be watching someone/something and he just wasn't paying attention. Nope, it was just that great of a moment. I love the pictures I captured. The best part is that I took these about 2 minutes into our hysterical laughing. You can see he has his seat belt on and can't drive because he is still laughing so hard. Sometimes you just have to laugh at yourself. Oh, I love my silly, silly hubby.

Celebrating

Today we are celebrating four.
Four Years of marriage.
Four wonderful Years to my hubby.
So, today I am really celebrating him and all the things I love about this man.
I had a hard time starting this post.  It's not that I didn't know what to say, it's more finding the words to say how FREAKING in love I am with this man.

So my darling husband,
Thank you for being the kind of man I can fall in love with over and over again.
Thank you for always believing in me and never faltering, for your endless support is unconditional.
Thank you for humor and sarcasm, for life isn't half as fun when you are not by my side to laugh with.
Thank you for choosing to build your life with me, for mine truly wouldn't be the same with out you.
Happy Wedding Anniversary to you love.

My super serious husband on the road trip this past weekend.

DIY LOVE frames

This was probably the quickest DIY project I've done yet and only $12.  I was inspired by a picture I saw and posted about it a few weeks ago.  I found these adorable frames at Michaels yesterday and knew they would work perfectly, plus you can't beat $3 a frame!  The frames came in 4 different sizes and colors of black, brown, and what I went with - white.  The hardest part was picking out the font to use.

I am still hoping to make the table, but for now they get to reside on our buffet!

Travels, friends and a backyard wedding

One of my dearest friends got married this last weekend, so D and I made the long haul up to Kansas for a few days.  This drive is horrible.  I hate I35, plain and simple.  We did enjoy our usual car dance party on the way up as well as the smell of heavy rain in Oklahoma.  I tend to think of the most random questions on the drive, and I found out D's name for pretzel's, aka crunchy twists. Our current play list included Neon Trees, Florence+The Machine, Jay-z and Kayne West and of course Girl Talk.  We got in about 4 a.m. Friday morning.

The weekend was filled with seeing great friends, all their adorable kiddos, and celebrating a super cute couple.  Here was my weekend via Instagram...

The best part was before I left, I wrote my part on our frame and then he added this at the bottom...

Apparently on Friday, I drank a little too much and when D came to get me I was very unhelpful.  I would do anything he asked, in a minute. :o)
