Food Love - Tres Leches Cake

Light, moist, airy and oh-so sweet.  You can't get much better than that for a dessert.  I had never had Tres Leches cake prior to making it, but The Pioneer Woman's description of the cake made it sound to die for!

I was pleasantly surprised how much I liked this little cake.  The more I try it, the more I seem to crave it.  You don't need a huge slice, and even in the fridge it's quite tasty.  I find myself having little bite sized pieces more often than I should!  Yum.

Sunday-Funday

After a long Saturday and a beautiful wedding, Sunday was my day to recover.  I decided to take the day off of working out and ran my 5 miles this morning (busted it out, btw!!).  Did I sleep in Sunday? Yeah right.  Does 8 a.m. count?  Ha.  So I decided D and I needed to take B somewhere and get breakfast.  We decided to be bad and try out the trailer called Biscuits and Groovy (51st and Duval).  It was pretty delicious, so I have to post pictures of our menu:

The Biscuits and Groovy - biscuits smothered in white pepper gravy with sausage and chives

The Johnny Hash - What I had topped PLUS bacon, potatoes and cheese!

You starting to get hungry yet?  The rest of our Sunday consisted of the dog park, my favorite coffee, the Women's World Cup game and making these delicious little bars - Strawberry Lemon Bars.

Fresh out of the oven - topped with a little sprinkle of powdered sugar

They were pretty delicious and wonderful cold.  They remind me of the lemon berry slush you can get at Sonic.  Perfect for summer.

Happy baking!  Love B

Attention Foodies

You've got to try this!  I am constantly asking the hubby what he would like for dinner, and he never seems to have an answer.  Ever.  Okay, maybe occasionally, but not very often.  So, the nights that I can cook, I'm left to my own devices to find a delicious and (trying to be) healthy recipe.  The other day, he directed me to this amazing site, called Foodily, that searches a ton of different recipe sites online, including blogs.  You can also specify what you don't want in it as well as low-carbs, low-fat, or high in fiber.  You can also log on via Facebook and see what your friends have tried and liked.  Foodies, you need to try this - oh SO many possibilities.

Who wants to work... Let's just bake all day!
