The Glee finale - did you see it!?  OMG, at the end I had tears streaming down my face.  I did not expect that to happen.  I tend to cry during most sad moments in movies/shows/books, but this was awful - cheese&rice!!  Now what to do all summer long with out our shows to watch... Looks like we will have time to get caught up on Mad Men and 30 Rock.
I am still reading Fifty Shades of Grey... for the second time.  I felt like I sped through it so quickly that I needed to reread.  Plus, my girlfriends and I are starting a book club just to talk about it.  It needs to be fresh in my mind - all fifty shades.  I'm also stuck on what to read afterwards - what do you read after a series like this?
(Side note, I love how many people refer to this series as Mommy Porn - Ha!)
Our little great dane puppy a happy first birthday!!!  He officially turned one on Saturday and we had a little party for him.  Love our huge, snuggly, GOOFY little (not so little) boy!

It to be Friday already!!!!  My bestie is flying into Dallas for the weekend, and I am headed up there to see her beautiful face!  I can hardly stand the wait - I haven't seen her since October!!!

Having family come down and visit!  This weekend we have my uncle (my dad's twin), my aunt and my cousin come down for the holiday.

Weekly Love

Not much.  I haven't had much time to sit and watch TV this week.  I did get to see the new episode of Glee.  Yes, I'm glad it's back and it still makes me happy to watch it.  I must admit, the other night, I started watching 5 minutes of Fashion Star and was enjoying it.  I think that is why I just avoid TV, excect for my DVR shows, because I wouldn't get anything done!

I haven't picked it up yet, but I'd going to start reading Bossypants, by Tina Fey.

Has anyone read it?  I have heard it's wonderful.  I also came across this list of books the other day on Pinterest, that are so good you just can't put them down.  I actually have read a few of the ones on there: The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo series, Hunger Games series, and The Help.

The time D and I have right before bed.  We are so busy during the day or distracted, we don't get to talk much.  Every night before bed, when we are all tucked in, we ask each other about our days, talk about tomorrow, make each other laugh.  I cherish all those moments, the small every day ones where it's just the two of us.

Everyone, especially friends and family, are safe back in Kansas/Nebraska with all the storms last night.  Storms can be a beautiful fury.  Be safe and smart when they are headed your way!

We were also SO excited to have brunch yesterday with his cousin, Amanda, from Louisiana.  She was in town running a race and I wish we could have spent more time together, but wedding season had a different idea for me.  Wishing we could get down there to see D's amazing family in Louisiana soon!!!  We miss you guys tons and sending our love to you back with Amanda - Drive Safe!

Most of Lauren Conrad's clothing line at Kohl's.  I adore the majority of her clothes I've seen.  I'm wearing this adorable top with black tights this morning and I'm in love.
Sorry, I haven't mastered taking pictures of myself yet and the shirt is a little wrinkly.  Don't you just adore the sheer pops of yellow on the front and back?

Happy Sunday!

Weekly Love

Madness - KU winning last night.  I honestly couldn't watch most of the game.  I think I started to really pay attention in the last 5 minutes, which is when they really started to turn it around.  D was hilarious when they won.  He had a few friends over and grilled out, which meant D had a few beers, and there was talk of him making a victory lap around the neighborhood.  It reminded me of 2008, when we were on Mass Street celebrating the night away.

Oh and we saw the Hunger Games on Friday with friends.

Loved it.  I of course compared it to the book the entire time.  It really was very similar, but since I just read it last week, I had a hard time with some of the changes.  Initially I didn't like who they cast for Peeta.  He was described as much taller and built than her, and my image of him in my head was so much different.  However, he did a great job making you love him in the movie.  The 2.5 hours flew by and I definitely want to watch it again!

One of my favorite food blogs right now is The Pastry Affair.  If you haven't read this blog, you need to.  The images are mouthwatering and the woopie pie recipe she did the other day - YUM!  Don't read on an empty stomach!

Stand up paddle boarding!  I went for the first time this afternoon and just loved it.  It was the perfect day, with just enough sun and the water was still cold enough that it was refreshing.  Wish I would have gotten some pictures, but there was nowhere to put my iPhone.  I must say, I didn't fall at all which I thought was an accomplishment!

Wishing that I get to run the San Francisco half marathon in October.  My loving friend Katie, that lives in San Fran, signed us up for the lottery pick.  It's such a popular marathon, that only selected people can run.  Most know it as the Tiffany's necklace marathon.  Yep, you get that at the end of the race, how cool is that?  Might be starting to train for my second half come April.

To paint the outside of my house.  We've been talking about it, but it's a large project.  We'd have to replace a lot of boards and definitely need some time to do so.  Placed some wildflowers outside our door and you can see the not so pretty pink/tan-hue our house currently is.

Happy April Fools Day!

Weekly Recap

Sweet 16.  KU is still in the running, so we will be watching tonight as they take on North Carolina.
We've been trying to get caught up on our shows also.
Mad Men starts tonight, and sadly, we still need to finish this last season.
We did watch New Girl last night, and it was SO funny.  I love Zoey Deschanel.  It's definitely one of my favorite shows on TV this season.

My Real Simple from last month.  Not sure how it took me so long to pick it up, but it might have something to do with the books I have been reading.  This last month was centered on taking time out of your day for yourself.  To really relax, even if that huge to-do list is not done.  I am the first to admit that I am horrible at doing nothing.  Even when we are watching shows or trying to relax, I'm usually multitasking with a book or my computer.  It's so easy to push any scheduled 'me' time away, when life is busy.  What was life like with out all the distractions and noise?  It's almost impossible to imagine.  Finding this time is something I need to work on.

This weather!  Yesterday was spent outside with friends at their pool, soaking in the warmth of the sun.  One thing I know is that I love the sun.  I imagine that if I lived in a place where it was more cloudy than sunny that I would be a lot less happy.  I can't get enough of that vitamin D.

I am wishing I could see two movies - Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and The Hunger Games asap.  Both of which are now out, but I still haven't seen them.  I am waiting a little bit, as to not fight the opening weekend crowds, to see the Hunger Games, and the other movie is on D's Netflix list, but has a long wait time.  It just can't get here soon enough.  Both are amazing book series.  Empowering women roles overcoming so many things.  After finishing both series, it makes me want to learn and master a self defense skill.  My friend and I were thinking about taking archery lessons.  Who doesn't want to be badass with a bow and arrow?

To get back into a running/workout routine.  The pool time definitely reminded me that I'd like to tone some areas and get back into shape.  I am still running every one in a while, but I need to kick it up a notch.  I know what I need to tone (hips, thighs, butt) and just really need to stop making excuses... they are never good enough.  Looks like I'll be taking an afternoon run soon.

Weekly Recap

There is pretty much no way to avoid it.  The NCAA tournament has been constantly on our TV.  All shows, movies, projects have been put on hold until the tournament is over.  I completely forgot to fill out a bracket this year, but with all the upsets, it's probably better.  Crossing my fingers and toes that KU makes it to the sweet 16 tonight!

I finally finished book 9 of a series I've been reading and might put book 10 on hold to finally read The Hunger Games.  I also have been going back and reading one of my favorite blogs called A Cup of Jo. She has some amazing articles, and her topics are always worth reading.  If you've never heard of her, definitely go check her out.  For those mommy's out there, I love her Motherhood Mondays.

Oh my goodness, the weather today!  It is gorgeous out here in Austin.  A perfect 70 degree overcast day with a mid-day light shower.  Seeing that it was SO nice out, D and I decided to get some outdoor things done around the house, including mowing, picking up leaves and cleaning out our gutters.  Let me tell you, the gutters were long over due!

My bestie lived just a little bit closer.  San Francisco is just a little too far away for a weekend trip.  Miss Katie, we need to change this.

These adorable sweetheart luggage tags from Etsy that I found on Pinterest for $32.50.  Such a great little gift for someone that is getting married or a couple off on their first big trip.

How cute are they??

Weekly Recap

I haven't been home much this week with wedding season off in full swing.  When I have though, my hubby seems to be taking over the TV with basketball.  I don't foresee much changing with March Madness right around the corner...  Always love cheering on my Jayhawks though!

I'm REALLY hoping to start reading The Hunger Games.  Seriously, I refuse to watch the movie before I've read it.  I hear it's amazing.

My manicure that I got earlier in the week.  I posted pictures before, but it's actually staying on.  That in itself is something to love.

I could go on vacation.  For some reason this week, not sure if it's all the rain or what, but I'd love to go sit on a warm sunny beach this week.  I could also be talked into going anywhere in Europe!  Any one ready to join me?

A basket for my bike.  We live so close to a grocery store, some days I'd just love to ride my bike there and get what I need, but that requires somewhere to put it.  Who doesn't want to have an adorable vintage looking metal basket on the front of their bike?

Hope you are having a Sunday Funday!
