34 Weeks

February  21, 2014
Tenth Doctors Appointment
I was excited to go to this appointment.  It really wasn't much different than those in the past, but I wanted to hear how our little girl was growing.  If she was still a little small, I'd get to see her in a sonogram.  If she was just right, all was well and no added worries for me.  All was well in the iron/weight/swelling departments.  No drastic changes there.  When the doctor came in, she checked my belly size, and I was right where I'm supposed to be - yay!  The heart beat was nice and strong so no reason to do the sonogram this week.  She felt for her position and said she is still facing down, which is great.  We went over some instructions for when I go into labor, and then I was free to go.  I scheduled my remaining appointments, which blew me away.  Only 5 weeks (7 at the most) to go!

Week 34
Size of Baby Walker  4.75 pounds = size of a eggplant!
Symptoms  Our little girl has had the hiccups more this past week.  It's the most interesting thing, in that it really feels more like a tap by her hand vs just a little hiccup.  It is always in my lower abdomen and usually last about 1-2 minutes.  Both D and my brother felt her this past weekend.  I still feel like I'm getting bigger with each day.  I am pretty mobile/flexible, but I have a feeling that's not going to last too much longer.  She is also always positioned with her feet/bum in my right ribs and her head/hands are usually on my lower left side.  She really likes to take up as much room as she can.  She's had a few good kicks on me this past week too!
Cravings/Aversions  Oh my sweet tooth.  I haven't had the best diet this past week, but I've tried to not indulge by eating a ton of bad items.  Small quantities are better, right?  I try to just keep the sweets out of the house, but having my mom make her homemade cinnamon rolls and rice krispy treats are killer.
Exercise  I've done quite a few things that are pretty active, but not any actual workout sessions.  Mostly it involves playing with the pups, cleaning both my car, garage and the house, then helping D with some parts on the shed.  I'm hoping to go to yoga this week, and I think I need to add squats to my morning routine...
Sleep  There was one night this past week that I could not get comfortable.  All the other nights have been pretty good, but it's the worst.  I just could not get comfortable.  D and I did get to sleep in both on Saturday and on Sunday.  Really, we don't sleep in all that long, but it's really just the idea that we don't have to get up at any particular time.  It's wonderful and one of my favorite things.
Best moment of the week...   I had a photographer friend come over with a stylist and doll me up on Thursday for a maternity shoot.  She so sweetly offered to take the photos of me, so we made an afternoon of it.  I can't wait to see the photos!  We also took Sunday to really just relax.  My brother was back from Louisiana, and we ate at this delicious French bakery for breakfast, followed by embracing the gorgeous day outside at Jester King Brewery and ended the day lazily on the couch with the pups.  I don't normally have that unproductive of a day, but it was lovely.    Oh, well we did wash our cars that afternoon, so I got something checked off the list
Changes  I am starting to read more about the first few months, which will be helpful here in a few weeks.  I know that most of the knowledge is instinctual and I'll learn as I go.  However, having just a refresher of what to expect is always helpful.
Looking forward to... spring break and having D home for a week.  I don't think we are going to do a specific 'baby moon', but we'll spend this week doing something fun.  I still can't believe it's almost March...

33 Weeks

Week 33

Size of Baby Walker  4.2 pounds = size of a coconut!
Symptoms  I've really started to notice that the belly is taking over.  I can't really sit with bad posture (hunched over) for very long.  She still likes to sit pretty high, so I find myself sitting pretty far back to make it comfortable.  I also have had some lower back pain at the end of a few days this past week.  I'm not sure if it's due to posture or the added weight in front.
Cravings/Aversions  Definitely frozen yogurt.  I told D that I think I could eat it every night!  It's not that bad for me to eat, but not really the cheapest thing either.
Exercise  No excuses, this week wasn't the most productive... AGAIN.
Sleep  Still getting a good night's sleep, even with a few bathroom breaks.  There hasn't been any this past week where I couldn't fall back asleep.  I must be preparing to get up so much in the night and then fall back asleep when the opportunity arises!
Best moment of the week...  Having the weekend mostly off was amazing.  I really have been working on the nursery, washing clothes, diapers, bedding, etc in hopes to have it finished soon.  Valentine's day was Friday with the hubs.  We decided to not do anything crazy, but just enjoyed the nice weather and spending some time together.  He's almost finished with the shed out back and has helped/finished countless projects that I seem to throw on him.  He really is the best, isn't he?
Changes  I don't know if there has really been anything new or changed this week.  We did go to the maternity tour this Sunday.  D is always so amazed how much smaller my belly is than half the pregnant women we see.  I'm excited to go to my appointment on Friday and see how much she's grown and possibly see her in a sonogram!
Looking forward to... seeing this little girl!  The more I work on her room the more I get excited to have her here.  I know I have a while to go, so I should prepare myself for another 8 weeks of being pregnant.

32 Weeks

February 4, 2014
Ninth Doctors Appointment
My 32 week appointment was the standard come and go appointment.  My provider and all of the Seton hospitals are now going digital for all their charts, which the 4th was the first day they were implementing it.  They did pretty good, but it meant my appointment ran longer than usual.  I also had my nurse putting all the current visits info in the computer, while my doctor came in with all my charts.  When she measured me, she said I was right at 30 weeks and her heart beat was great.  Once she was done with the doppler, I asked if that meant I was measuring pretty small.  Her response was  she thought (based on my charts from my last apt) that I was at 30 weeks.  In looking at the date, she realized that wasn't the case.  She wasn't overly surprised by the measurement and said that if she is still small on the next 2 week appointment that I'd get another sonogram.  I'm not concerned with it, since I know she can have her own growth spurts.  So we will just see where next week takes us.  We also gave her our birth plan, which she had no issues with.

Week 32
Size of Baby Walker  3.75 pounds = size of a cabbage!
Symptoms  Those lovely stomach cramps came back one day this week.  I'm still not sure if it's caused by something I ate or if it's my prenatal.  Either way, they always start after breakfast and feel like someone is grabbing your stomach and squeezing.  Luckily they aren't constant, so I could still enjoy my Saturday.  No swelling, which I'm thankful for.  Although, I don't know if it's very possible with this cold weather.
Cravings/Aversions  I'd love to have some cravings one of these days.  I just don't think that they are going to happen at this point.  I did have to get some fruit snacks for a birthday cake my friend was making for her little girl.  I had to have one of those and man they are still delicious and totally bad for you.  This is why I don't keep things like that in my house... :)
Exercise  No excuses, this week wasn't the most productive.
Sleep  I've been sleeping pretty well.  I think with the growth of the belly, it allows me to lay more comfortably on my side with out twisting my back a ton.  I get up at least once and still have some moments where I can't fall back asleep.  This week though, there have definitely been a couple nights I slept through the entire night!?!
Best moment of the week...  I had my 2nd and last baby shower on Saturday afternoon.  It was absolutely perfect.  My sweet friends that hosted the shower did an adorable job decorating and spoiled me with all my favorite foods.  To all my friends that were able to come or send your love, I am so beyond thankful for having you in my life.  I can not tell you how much your love and support means to us.  I wish I would have taken more photos.  I'm kicking myself that I didn't get a full shot of everyone there!!  Here are just a few photos that I remembered to take of the details before everyone got there.

Changes  I definitely think that she has her kick down.  I've had a few moments where she really let's it go, sheesh girl!  We also decided on our pediatrician for our little girl.  We visited 3 different facilities and really it was more choosing on bedside manner and location for us.
Looking forward to... We purchased the nursery dresser/changing table this past weekend and I'm so excited to take all our shower gifts and put them out.  Now the fun really begins when I can get my nursery all together.  I'm excited to see it get there!  Pictures to come soon.

31 Weeks

Week 31
Size of Baby Walker  3.5 pounds = size of a squash!
Symptoms  There definitely have been days where I feel huge and others that I look at my belly and still feel small.  I can tell that she is really more spread out.  She really kicks up by my ribs (sometimes under/in my ribs) and then she'll be moving her arms around in my lower abdomen at the same time.  Much different movement from when her whole body would adjust.
Cravings/Aversions  I'd say frozen yogurt for sure this past week.  I think the low fat evening treat was a must.  I definitely could have eaten it every night if the hubby would have let me.  I had lots of evening events this past week, so some of the nightly meals hadn't been that healthy.  I had fun out with the girls for dinner, and celebrating our friend's little boy turning one had to involve cupcakes, which were tasty.  The Super Bowl also didn't help my choices, but how can you pass up queso?
Exercise  Took the pups on a few walks and still trying to stretch out more.  The days that are nice, I've definitely been getting out and enjoying it.  I feel like work has kept me really busy this past week, so not a ton of exercise.
Sleep  There have been a few nights that I've woken up and not been able to go back to sleep.  Is this the point where I start sleeping less?  I have definitely gotten up at least once at night to use the restroom.  Sometime it's multiple times.
Best moment of the week...  It really was a busy week full of fun, but definitely my favorite was celebrating this little guys birthday on Friday!

Changes I've definitely had a harder time eating larger meals.  I find myself feeling super full, so I've been cutting down on the meal size and having smaller meals and more of them.  She is just growing away, so it's taking up most of the space in there.  I've also started my appointments every two weeks, so I now have an appointment today that I get to head to!
Looking forward to... My shower this coming Saturday and celebrating my friend's little girl's birthday party on Sunday.  It's going to be nice to be able to really start working on getting all the items we still need and finishing our nursery after the shower.  I just love to get things done and have everything put together, so I can relax leading into March.
