Busy. Busy.

We had such a busy weekend with all the projects we've got going on.  I found this wreath online, from House of Smiths Blog, that I just had to make for my front door.  I've made these flowers with fabric for a pillow that is on my bed.  I under estimated the number of flowers needed to fill the size of foam I got.  However, tissues flowers are way easier to make than fabric ones.  What I thought would be a day project, is now a week project!  Finished pictures to come.

What I am most excited about is what has been happening in our bathroom.  TILE!!!!!!!!  That's right, we finally got the time to start on the wall.  We hope to finish it tonight and grout tomorrow..  Here are a few pictures and I'm off to get started!

The subway tiles look green in this image, but they are grey.  The shelf is not really blue, just covered in tape and those are pretty glass tiles in the shelf.  We are getting stuff done!!!  Love B

Dance Party

I am a firm believer in dropping everything and having a dance party.   There are certain songs that will come on the radio that get me rocking back and forth or singing as loud as I can.  You know the songs... If you have not had a real dance party or do not know what I'm talking about, you are missing out.  D introduced me to this artist/DJ called Girl Talk that remixes the most amazing songs.  Seriously.  If you are looking to get that booty off the couch, follow this link or this one.  How can you not get up and shake it?!!?  Still not working for you?  Try this one.  Okay really any of the remixes are amazing!!

Now if I could only be back in Oliver dorm with these lovely ladies that really showed me how to have a dance party.   {LOVE YOU LADIES}

A Classic.

I've felt a little off today, but not really sure why.  I'm sure I just need some more sleep, but I tried to be productive today.  We started off with our Sunday tradition of coffee and walking B down by town lake.  She loves to be outside, and I enjoy being with her and the boy embracing nature.  I wish I could start every morning this way.  Those two warm my heart.

We have had a pretty great weekend.  We kicked it off on Friday night by putting up signs for the yard sale, made by yours truly, and finally watching Inception.  I really enjoyed it and definitely think I need to watch it a second time to make sure I didn't miss anything.  7 a.m. Saturday morning kicked off our yard sale.  We rolled out of bed at 6 since we had to take everything out of the garage and set it up.  Really, all the items were just piled in one section of the garage.  This is the only picture I was able to take of the sale, which is a picture of the boys getting items out of the garage...

Right at 7, we had our first 'customer' and that started the whirlwind of the morning.  We were super busy at first with the hard core people, and then it tapered off after 11.  We decided to pack up around noon since we sold almost all of the items.  It was crazy how much we sold.  I was pleasantly surprised and we made about $300.   I was mostly surprised about how many of my shoes and clothes sold.  I'm not sure why, but I was not expecting that.  I really think they all found us by my awesome signs, but I also posted an ad on Craigslist.  We also didn't mark prices on anything and just let people ask if they were interested in an item.  It was a good day!

Since we spent so much time outside yesterday and got a lot of junk out of our garage, we decided to be productive and clean out the remaining items and organize.  This was mainly the boys, and I went off to tackle my own 'beasts'.  The boys did a great job on their projects, but this was mine.

And let me tell you, this remains of a tree is not my friend.  I had some choice words for it this afternoon.  Basically, it sits right up against the wall in our front walkway.  It is literally a pain in the butt and we can not dig it up.  All the roots have basically turned as hard as cement and we've tried so many different things, shovels, chain saw, and drill.  I really want it out, so if you have any solutions... Please let me know!!!  For now, it has won the battle.

For the first time, we got a car in the garage!!!  Woo.

This evening while the boys finished in the garage, I decided to whip up a classic treat that I haven't made in quite a while.  I tend to spice up this well known favorite with Cheerios or peanut butter, but tonight I kept it simple.  I mean how can you not love this
ooie...
gooie..
favorite?

Oh so delicious Rice Krispy Treats.

Peanut Butter Crispy Bars

I am obsessed with the Smitten Kitchen and all her delicious recipes.  I swear, if you have not checked it out, go there immediately! It's like food-porn, yep, I went there.  So when I felt like baking something sweet tonight, I sent the boy over there to pick out a recipe.  He decided to go with the Peanut Butter Crisp Bars, and I had to laugh when I read her details about them.  She wasn't kidding - SERIOUSLY DON'T MAKE THEM - they are delicious.  Okay, maybe do, but know that you will want to eat the whole pan.  Find the recipe here.

Love making a mess in the kitchen.  B

Weekend forecast...

What are your plans for the weekend?  This is what we will be doing...

We are finally going to have one!  We are hoping to get rid of some of the items cluttering up our garage.  One of these days we are hoping to be able to fit a car into our garage.  Do I think we will sell everything? No... But I have high hopes.  I'm not going to price everything and have people tell me what they'd like to pay for it.  I told D this morning that if nothing else, at the end we can put a sign on it that says 'free' and I'm sure it will get taken.

The forecast for Saturday has the high in the 60s and sunny.  I'm just going to say that I'm ready for this cold business to be over with!!  I'm ready for my momma to move down {only 16 more days} and I can't wait to have her live in the same town as me.  Excited stuff going on in the Walker household. !!

Pretty New Collar

Look what I got in the mail yesterday!

I decided that it was about time she got a new collar.  Although I loved the one she had, it was beginning to fade out since I had to wash it so much.  I thought a little more color would be nice for the spring.  Plus, maybe with the bright colors people will know she is a girl.   Ha. I think it's her build, but everyone always says 'Oh, he is so cute'.   I got this one from the same seller on Etsy and was very happy with the results.

I keep looking at the design and think to myself that it might not be that hard to make myself.... I see a project in my future. :o)

She is such a silly girl.  She has been so playful lately that I can't seem to get a good picture of her and her pretty new collar, but these will do for now.

What a week...

Seriously.  How is it already February?  This last week was so crazy, not to mention we went from 75 degree weather to snow!!  I know I say this a lot, but I really enjoy watching Austin react to the 'snow'. We got what... MAYBE an inch of snow.  Basically the whole town shuts down.  Not that I am really complaining, because I got to keep my nice and warm hubby in the bed with me for a few more hours.

Our lovely backyard covered in snow.

TB did not appreciate the cold.

I have had a lot of these this week...  they have been keeping me going!

I did get to go on a lovely wine tour with the best rental company in town.  We toured four hill country vineyards and tasted wine, which is not a bad way to spend your mid-week.   My favorite was Inwood Vineyards and their tasty tempranillo-cabernet blend.

Beautiful sight.

Some of us ladies - we weren't quite ready for the picture.

Tasting wine straight out of the barrel.  This was a Merlot that was SO tasty!

Yes, it was that cold!  Love the frozen fountain.   -All these pictures were courtesy of Marquee

I ended the week with a beautiful indoor wedding, thank goodness!  I hope everyone enjoyed the Super Bowl yesterday.  We watched the game over at a friends house and enjoyed the Packers win!
Happy Monday B

Ridiculous Board Game

I love board games.  How can anyone resist a good dose of friendly competition.  Sunday night, a group of my friends, D, and I, decided to have a game night = Best idea ever.  My friends kept saying that we would be playing Quelf, and I had absolutely NO idea what I was getting myself in to.  This game is utterly ridiculously AMAZING.

Joe, one of our friends, warned us we had to have a few drinks down before we started to play.  The 'rules' were explained to us, but they in no way prepare you for what you will be doing.  Basically you have to do what the card says... That's it, obey the cards.  I've played some silly games in the past, but this tops them all.

No other game could have you doing the most random things.  For instance... Giving yourself a wedgie, chanting 'All hai the Chinese cheese biscuit' every time you roll a 1, secretly excusing yourself to the bathroom until someone comes and gets you.  D was in there for 11 minutes before we all realized.  I was the one that had to go 'release' him, just in case he really didn't get that card and he was in fact having issues. lol.  I also ran in slow motion across the room and had to put my thumbs in my mouth and at the same time touch my shoulders every time I talked and it wasn't my turn.  Hilarious.  D also got to get up and sing a song of his choice while keeping his tongue on his upper lip.  Basically it was a night of outrageous humiliating fun.  YOU HAVE TO TRY IT.

Here is to acting silly! B
