Running Update

This last week was pretty rough.  After the weekend in Kansas, I came back with congestion in my chest = annoying.  I don't feel sick during the day, but mornings are pretty rough.  I cough a lot more and feel more tired.  I decided to take last week pretty light and only ran 2 days during the week as to not make me get more sick.  I was a little nervous to go running on Sunday.  I felt that even with only a few days off that I was going to loose 1. my motivation and 2. the strength and speed I have been working so hard on. 


Well, I was pleasantly surprised on my 8 mile run... I made it 7 and although I didn't make my goal, it felt really good and my pace was still the same.  I felt like I could have kept going and hit that 8 mile mark, but I have leg issues when I get up to those distances with my Vibrams.  I am thinking I'm going to have to invest in another style of shoes, as much as I LOVE my Vibrams, I know I could run much longer distances with a more supportive shoe.  Now the search is on.  Anyone reading have a favorite running shoe?

This week I've felt pretty good, but still haven't hit that under 10 min/mile goal.  One of these days... Attempting 9 miles tomorrow.
