Hello 2011

A few days late, but I wanted to wish everyone a HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!   We made the long haul back to Austin last night, and it was good to be home after two weeks.  I must admit that I was a little nervous to leave our house for that long, given what happened back in October.  But I firmly believe that all things happen for a reason, and if it was going to happen again, I couldn't stop it.  That said, we arrived back to a happy and pretty messy home.  With our last minute projects before we left, the house was quite the site to see.  Ikea boxes everywhere.  I wasn't planning on making any resolutions to start off the year, but maybe making sure the house is clean before leaving for a trip would be one to consider!

We had an amazing holiday trip and had the chance to spend all of our two weeks with family and friends that we absolutely adore.  We ventured through Hutch, up to Nebraska and back down to Lawrence and Kansas City.  Lots of driving, but worth it.  I was most excited to see my Kuhlman family up in Nebraska.  Two years was too long to be away and seeing my large, loud, lovable, crazy family is why I love the holidays so much.  They make me laugh.  I am truly blessed to have so many wonderful people out there that I love.  Every year we get all the family together and do a gift exchange.  This year we decided to build a tower.

Darrell (or as my cousins say 'Doug') got to shoot his first pistol that night.  Mom got the lowest hand in pitch, which I didn't think was possible, of 19.  Scott, D and I also got to see my uncle Daniel for the first time in quite a while.  It was so nice to get to catch up and spend some time with him!

We spent our New Years Eve at my 'brother' Corey's wedding rehearsal and dinner.  I have a love-hate relationship with New Years.  I always feel like it is so built up and the plans are never as good as you think they will be.  This year we had so much fun.  We stayed in our hotel in the power and light district in KC, mostly because it was FREEZING in Kansas.  We hung out with friends, played hotel pong, and had a dance party in our room.  What could be better than that.  This year it was the perfect way to end 2010.

Saying goodbye to 2010, I'd say we had a amazing mess of a year.   We traveled to both San Francisco and Las Vegas, bought a house, adopted a dog, dealt with surgery and break ins, got my brother and parents to move down to Austin.  Now have countless memories that I will only look back on with joy, because really, what else can you do.  I'm excited for what 2011 will bring.  I already have a busy wedding schedule to look forward to.  I am truly blessed and it would be nothing if I didn't have loved ones to share it with.

Love B
